than Zeffy, every event
Assumes 120/200 attendees add a voluntary £5 donation and declare Gift Aid. Your numbers will vary — but even 30% participation covers the fee.

Everything a UK charity needs to run great fundraising events
Built for the operational reality of running charity events — not adapted from a generic ticketing tool.
Gift Aid declarations at checkout
UK taxpayers tick a single box when they book. Gathrd captures their name, home address, and postcode — everything HMRC requires. No paper forms, no follow-up emails, no chasing.
R68-ready export
Download a spreadsheet formatted exactly how HMRC expects it for your Gift Aid claim. Submit directly — no re-formatting, no manual data entry, no accountant needed for this step.
Donation alongside ticket purchase
Add an optional donation step to any event checkout. Attendees buy a ticket, add a gift, and declare Gift Aid in a single flow. No second platform, no separate donation link.
Your donor data stays yours
Eventbrite and Zeffy use your attendee data to retarget them with other events. Gathrd never sells or markets to your attendees. Export your full list any time — it belongs to you.
3% platform fee — that's it
No per-ticket surcharge, no booking fee on top. On a 200-person £25 charity gala, Eventbrite takes £407. Gathrd takes £125. That £282 difference stays with your cause.
Funds in 2 days, not 2 weeks
Eventbrite holds ticket revenue for up to 14 days after your event. Gathrd pays out via Stripe within 2 business days of each sale — before your event even happens.
QR check-in at the door
No paper lists, no spreadsheets. Scan attendee QR codes with any smartphone. Real-time dashboard shows arrivals as they happen — ideal for capacity-managed charity galas and fundraisers.
Automatic attendee reminders
Registrants receive a confirmation email instantly, then automatic reminders 48 hours and 1 hour before your event. No manual follow-up, no chasing no-shows.
Real-time dashboard
See registrations, check-ins, ticket revenue, donation totals, and Gift Aid declarations at a glance. Export everything to CSV any time — full attendee data, always available.
Free tier for small charities
List up to 3 events per month with up to 50 attendees each — completely free, forever. No credit card required. Perfect for getting started or running smaller community events.
UK data residency
All attendee and donor data is stored in AWS eu-west-2 (London). Zeffy is Canadian/US-hosted. For UK charities with data governance obligations, this matters.

Gift Aid, collected automatically
HMRC requires a signed declaration from the donor. Most charities chase it manually by email after the event. Gathrd captures it at checkout — so you never have to.

Common questions from charity organisers
Does Gift Aid work on event tickets?
Gift Aid applies to donations, not to the ticket price itself. However, Gathrd adds an optional donation step to the checkout where supporters can make a gift and declare Gift Aid on that amount. This is how most charity events use Gift Aid — the ticket buys the entry, the donation is the charitable gift.
What does Gathrd capture for a valid HMRC declaration?
HMRC requires full name, home address (including postcode), and a statement that the donor is a UK taxpayer. Gathrd captures all of this at checkout and stores it securely. Your R68 export includes every declaration in the format HMRC expects.
How is Gathrd different from Zeffy?
Zeffy charges 0% platform fees — their revenue comes from optional tips donors leave at checkout. Gathrd charges 3%. The difference: Gathrd has Gift Aid built in. If 60% of your attendees add a small donation and declare Gift Aid, the HMRC reclaim covers our fee entirely. For UK charities, Gift Aid is almost always worth more than the fee difference.
When does the charity receive its money?
Payouts are processed within 2 business days of each sale via Stripe — not held until after the event. This is significantly faster than Eventbrite (up to 14 days) and Zeffy (after the event ends). For charities managing cash flow, this matters.
Can we run free events on Gathrd?
Yes. Free events are always free — the 3% platform fee only applies to paid ticket transactions. Running a community open day, volunteer briefing, or free fundraising event costs nothing on Gathrd, even on the free tier.
Who owns the attendee data?
You do. Gathrd never sells, shares, or markets to your attendees. You can export a full CSV of every registration — names, emails, ticket types, donation amounts, Gift Aid consent — at any time. We're a tool, not a marketplace monetising your community.
Do we need to be a registered charity?
No — any organisation can use Gathrd for event ticketing. However, Gift Aid is only available to HMRC-registered charities (or CASCs). When you create your organisation profile, you can add your charity registration number to unlock Gift Aid collection.
Does Gathrd submit Gift Aid to HMRC on our behalf?
Not currently. Gathrd captures the declarations and generates an R68-ready export. You (or your finance team) submit the claim to HMRC directly via your Charities Online account. This keeps you in full control of your Gift Aid claims.
